The Family Table

The table has long been the center of  family traditions. Where generations have shared joy, sorrow and progress over painstakingly prepared meals resourcefully crafted from the family garden or local farm. Equal parts sanctuary and sounding board, the table gave people a place to come together and exchange cares and dreams over food meant to comfort and nourish the soul as much as the body. With time honored recipes and family traditions  Heirloom eats strives to bring back the family table.

Chef Kalen Fortuna

Chef Kalen Fortuna, an Isle of Palms native, has spent ten years working in and around some of Charleston’s favorite kitchens. He honed his skills under the tutelage of Chef Graham Dailey of Peninsula Grill before working at Little Palm Island where he began to blend subtle Caribbean influences with his Lowcountry home-spun style. His goal is to work with regional farmers and producers to bring local and flavorful dishes from our table to yours.
